Accessing File

I am trying to open a file that is in the same folder as my program but it won't find it. Below I have listed my "Open" statement and "Input" statement so you can see what I'm typing. The program is completely written and the data (500-600 numbers) is in a notebook file (.txt) in same folder as TrueBasic. It gives me an error noting, "Cannot find file" or "File doesn't exist." Can you help here?

OPEN #1: NAME "RETIREMENT", CREATE OLD

INPUT #1 N(1), N(2), N(3), N(4), N(5), N(6)

opening files

Hi,

As a golden rule you should always put the full pathname of the file "RETIREMENT" to be sure that TB will find it.

You also need to be sure that your file is actually called RETIREMENT or is its real name RETIREMENT.TXT

The alternative is to use SET DIRECTORY path$ to define the working directory (or folder) where the file can be found. In this way you don't need the full pathname.
