"Window" menu doesn't work

I used the "Window" menu to move to "Untitled1" and then could not move back to my original source-code window.

The Window menu displays the source-code windows oddly -- with a long blank inserted. For example "C:Bill.............rue basic gold\file renamer.tru" (I've substituted periods for the blanks, as internal blanks get trimmed when this is posted. I could post a screen shot, but apparently there's no way to attach a file to this note.)

Debug mode used to activate "Variable window" in the Window menu. This is missing in version 6, and I can't find this information in the the other menus either. In fact, invoking Debug mode didn't seem to do anything. (I admit that I haven't checked the new documentation to see if/how Debug has been changed, so apologies if I'm raising a false alarm.)

WINDOW MENU

Hi,

So far I have not been able to reproduce the long blanks in filenames in the list of current files under the Window menu.

In the manual it describes how the BREAKPOINT works in debug mode, and how to produce a variables list (not window). Basically you add a breakpoint to the line where you want the program to halt, then you type a list of the variables you wish to see (separated by commas). When the program halts a list of all these variables and their current value will be displayed.

Blanks in filenames

Hi,

I have just managed to produce a filename with blanks in it. I will get back to you when I discover how I did it so that I can eliminate the bug.

Blanks in filenames

Hi,

I was not able to reproduce the blanks in the filenames again, but that may be because other bug fixes have cured the problem.

I normally use HOTSTART which restarts the editor with all the files open that were previously open. If you want to clear the list of files then un-tick HOTSTART under the SETTINGS menu and when you restart the editor the WINDOWS menu will only have one UNTITLED program - all the rest will be cleared. At least that is how it should work. When I tried it I found that it does work that way but it leaves spaces behind in place of the cleared files. This fouls up the way the list works. I have now cured this bug.

I checked out switching between mutiple files using the WINDOWS list and it now works correctly.

When will the fix be available?

Thanks! When will the fixes be available? A few days yet?
