forms-"forms_1" bug?

after creating two simple forms when I reopen "help -forms" the help program lists "form_1" and "form_2" correctly on the selection list. HOWEVER- when I try to edit "form_1" it gives me a new form instead. When I try to edit "form_2" it gives me "form_2" for editing correctly.

the program into which these were inserted runs them correctly.

if you wish I will email the automatically generated program. let me know how.

TBF files

Hi Carl,

I note that you scrubbed this comment, but when I investigated the problem I also found another problem with TBF files.

Basically when FORMS creates automatic source code it generates two files:
(1) The automatic source code TRU file
(2) A text file called TBF containing all the data necessary to re-create the automatic objects in the source file.

These two files have the same title name.
If you rename the source file you must also rename the TBF file. This can be inconvenient, particularly when the auto code has several forms, because each form has a separate TBF file.

In the next release of FORMS, the TBF files wil be identified by a special code reference, so that it will no longer be necessary to rename the TBF files when you rename the TRU file. This is achieved by embedding the TBF file reference in the automatic code in the TRU file.

TBF files for FORMS

Hi everybody,

The latest release of FORMS now has an embedded reference to the TBF file. The embedded reference is actually inside a line of source code which is commented out so that the program runs without interference from the embedded reference.

You can now safely change the source program name without the need to change the TBF filename.
